Some of my studies have led to popular media interviews and/or has been covered in various media outlets including the following:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Public Radio (NPR), Reuters, Huffington Post, LiveScience, SciTechDaily, The New York Times Student Journal, and Dag og Tid (Norwegian)

At Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, I contributed to pioneering investigations of prostate cancer as well as cancer risks among World Trade Center rescue and recovery workers, garnering substantial media attention for its significant findings. The study, highlighted in reputable outlets such as the United States’ Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Public Radio (NPR), shed light on the elevated cancer risks in this cohort due to exposure during the rescue and recovery efforts post-9/11.

Several studies were cited by the sponsors of the bill to support the need for enhanced financial support, contributing to the allocation of extra funding for comprehensive cancer follow-up initiatives for WTC rescue and recovery workers. This has resulted in the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act, a reauthorization of the James Zadroga Act from 2011, which extended medical benefits to affected individuals including medical monitoring for the next 75 years.
